Covid Booster Vaccination

We are working alongside Orchard Pharmacy in Mansfield to deliver our Covid Booster Vaccination Programme. Clinics will be held at Mansfield Community Hospital. There is very limited car parking at the main Hospital, therefore please use alternative methods of travel to attend, wherever possible to limit disruption to the hospital. Please do not contact the practice, pharmacy or hospital, as you will be invited when it is your turn to have your Covid Booster. You will then need to directly book your appointment via the National Booking System by dialling 119, or by using the below link: .

Guidance for patients from 19th July

Dear Patients, mask wearing guidance and social distancing measures will change from 19th July 2021 as per government guidelines announced recently. We must stress however that the same guidance suggests caution and recommends ongoing wearing of masks in closed spaces, small and crowded areas and where vulnerable people will be present.

National guidance also outlines NHS patients, staff and visitors must continue to wear face coverings in healthcare settings. As you will often be in close proximity to our clinicians and potentially other vulnerable patients when you come to us, we will continue to ask patients to wear masks on our premises and practice social distancing until further notice. This is to minimise disruption to our service and ensure those most vulnerable are still protected when accessing care.

Thank you for your understanding.

Covid-19 Vaccinations

The Covid-19 vaccination programme has begun. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, the NHS will contact you. Please do not contact the NHS.

In Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, a few different health and care organisations including hospitals, GP practices, care homes and others are working together on the Covid-19 vaccination programme. This means when it is your turn to be vaccinated, this may not be at your GP practice. You will be told where to go for your appointment and how to book.

In line with expert guidance, the first priority for vaccination is care homes residents and staff, people over the age of 80 and frontline health and care workers.

We understand a lot of people want to be vaccinated and would like to reassure you this will happen. Please be patient and wait to be contacted.

For further information on why you are being asked to wait for your Covid-19 vaccine, please read the information on the GOV.UK website.

When attending Sandy Lane Surgery for an appointment, can you and any family member please wear a face covering.

If you do not have a mask, please wear a scarf, bandana or something similar to cover your mouth and nose.

Thank you for helping us all to stay safe.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): what you need to do

Stay at home

You should only leave the house for one of four reasons:

  • Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible.
  • One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk or cycle - alone or with members of your household.
  • Any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person.
  • Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

Advice for people with severe health conditions

This week NHS services will be contacting people with a range of severe health conditions urging them to self-isolate for 12 weeks. We have also contacted all local patients with a generic message following the prime ministers advice on the 23rd March. Please don't panic if you have received a text and don't have a severe health condition. Health advice will be confirmed by letter to those identified this week. There is no need to contact your GP about the message.

Visit for full guidance on staying at home and away from others.

Dr Masud, Dr Qureshi and Dr Aghel

Named Accountable GP

You may be aware that from April all practices are required to provide all their patients with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to them.

As one of our patients, Dr Hamid Masud will be the named GP for male patients and Dr Humaira Qureshi will be the named GP for female patients. Dr Masud and Dr Qureshi will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides for you. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Disabled Access

At the surgery, reserved car parking spaces for the disabled are marked in the car park. Wheelchair access to the building is through the front entrance. A disabled patient's WC is provided in the waiting room. If access proves difficult to any of our disabled patients we would be happy to consider any suggestions for improvement.
